A Smart , Young Celebrity Couple- FINALLY!

Hillary Duff, 22, and Mike Comrie, 29, were married Saturday evening in Santa Barbara, Calif., before about 100 guests. The singer-actress' mother, Susan Duff, escorted her down the aisle and the coulpe wrote their own vows in a romantic ceremony.

The couple met in 2007 and Comrie proposed during a Hawaiian vacation in February of this year. I must commend these two love birds for being logical about their nuptials who reportedly entered into a Prenuptial Agreement. What is a Prenuptial Agreement? It is sometimes called an antenuptial agreement and is a written contract created and executed by two people before they are legally married. It usually spells out how assets will be distributed in the event of divorce or death. Contrary to public opinion, prenups are a fabulous financial planning tool that can help resolve many issues regarding property ownership, resolution of debts, division of business interests, spousal support and other asset-based issues that arise during a marriage when divorce is the only option. Prenups have been in existence for thousands of years, dating back to European royal families. Prenups can save you a great deal of time and money if your marriage doesn't last. It's a vital tool to have when there is big money at stake between you and your partner and if your families have large estates.

Just ask Donald Trump who has been married 3 times and always had a solid prenuptial agreement executed to protect his large estate and his children. Here, Mike Comrie's family is estimated to be worth 500 million dollars as they own a very lucrative Canadian appliance and furniture empire.Hillary Duff is estimated to have a new worth of 12-20 million dollars on her own accord. Clearly Mike Comrie's family wanted to protect any money or business interest they gifted to their son while he is married to Duff. Their Prenuptial agreement likely detailed this and insured it would not be touched by Duff under any circumstances. Duff also protcted herself likely by carving out any money or assets or bysiness interest brought to the marriage be exempt from distribution in the event of divorce or death.

These under 30 celebs are very smart. With the first time marriage statistics showing divorce rates at over 55%, your odds of surviing a long term marriage in Hollywood are not very good. Here, if Duff and Comrie do divorce they already have a resolution of their assets which they can do quietly and inexpensively. Hollywood- please follow suit and learn from this couple! Please!

Fantasia - did she mess with the wrong man in the wrong state?

Could be Fantasia be liable to her alleged boyfriends Wife for Millions? Under North Carolina law, a wife can sue a third party mistress for alienation of affection or criminal conversation if she can prove that their was 1) a loving marriage; 2) that was destroyed and 3) that the third party's wrongful acts destroyed the marriage. After reviewing the allegations contained in the Complaint by Mrs. Cook and if corroborated as true, it appears like Fantasia may have involved herself with the wrong guy in the wrong state! There are only 7 states that allow for an aggrieved spouse to sue a third party for malicious conduct that contributed to the breakdown of the marriage. There also may be a sex tape out there as well so this case could get interesting very soon. Moral of the story if true- don’t let your mistress tattoo your name on her chest- it makes for a great Exhibit in Court!
